Volt is immediately hiring an Experienced 2ND SHIFT - MATERIAL HANDLER in ONTARIO, CA.

*** MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE working with RAW MATERIALS. (Production Environment) - Injection Plastic Molding Preferred ***

- MUST be able to Pay Attention to DETAIL,

- MUST be able to Stand, Walk, and Bend for extended periods of time and carry heavy bags or containers of materials.

- MUST be able to Speak and Read in English.

- MUST be able to work OVERTIME and WEEKENDS if needed / scheduled.

KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:

Your primary responsibility is to manage the materials used in the injection molding process. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and delivering raw materials, ensuring that they are readily available for the production team. Your role contributes to the overall efficiency and productivity of the injection molding operation.

• Receive and inspect incoming materials, including plastic pellets, additives, and other necessary components.

• Safely transport materials to storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other appropriate equipment.

• Maintain accurate inventory records of all materials and update them as necessary.

• Monitor material levels and reorder supplies to ensure uninterrupted production.

• Rotate materials on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis to minimize waste and ensure product quality.

• Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in periodic physical inventory audits.

• Weighs, labels and stores left over materials after production runs or mold samples.

• Prepare materials for the injection molding machines, including blending different materials or colors if required.

• Ensure that materials are properly dried and free from contamination before they are loaded into hoppers.

• Keep production lines supplied with materials throughout the shift to prevent downtime.

• Perform quality checks on incoming materials to identify any defects or discrepancies.

• Checks areas around machinery for oil spills or debris and then does necessary clean-up.

• Ensure that materials meet the specifications and standards required for the injection molding process.

• Assist in resolving material-related issues that may affect product quality.

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, especially when operating material handling equipment.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize safety hazards.

• Follow all environmental and regulatory requirements related to material handling and storage.

• Collaborate with the production team to coordinate material deliveries and transfers.

• Report any material shortages, quality issues, or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.

• Document material transactions and provide regular updates to supervisors.

*** 1ST SHIFT SCHEDULE: 3:30PM - 12:00AM - Must be able to work Over Time and Weekends when Needed / Scheduled but RARE***

*** PAY RATE: $20.50 per hour. ***
