Key Responsibilities :

Juniata College invites applicants for the full-time, 12 month position of Academic Resource Coordinator. The Academic Resource Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing student academic success and retention. The role offers personalized academic coaching, facilitates the peer mentoring program, and provides targeted programs to best support a diverse population of students in their academic pursuits. The ARC also manages academic monitoring in Basecamp (Pharos360) and oversees the early alert and midterm notice programs in an effort to create a data-informed approach to academic support at Juniata. The position collaborates with key campus partners such as: faculty, academic advisors, Student Accessibility Services, Statton Learning Commons, Registrar, and the Dean of Student's Office.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide individualized academic coaching to a caseload of students, with emphasis on time management, study strategy, goal setting, and general learning skills.
- Manage the Stoplight Survey and Midterm notice programs to ensure early and accurate tracking and intervention for at-risk students.
- Oversee the Academic Recovery program, including management of assigning caseload responsibilities, communication with students regarding steps to success, and overarching support throughout the academic year.
- Respond to faculty and staff academic alerts regarding student intervention. Maintain accurate data regarding all outreach, contacts with and about students, referrals to other resources, and outcomes such as performance improvement or decline, unexcused class absences, separation or leave of absence from Juniata College, or unresponsiveness to outreach.
- Collaborates with the EaglesCare team to ensure a holistic approach to student success.
- Supervise study tables, including weekly Super Study Sessions, daily small group objective-based study halls for at-risk students, and select student-athlete study hall requirements.
- Create programming opportunities throughout the academic year that promote acaemic success, including workshops, stress busters, and drop-in hours.
- Oversee the Peer Mentor program.

  • Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and training of student Peer Mentors.
  • Supervise the JA for Peer Mentoring.
  • Coordinate scheduling and assignments for Peer Mentor opportunities.
  • Conduct monthly training for all Peer Mentors.
- Coordinate academic monitoring Basecamp (Pharos360) usage, maintance needs, and case management efforts. Serve as the liasion to the Pharos360 customer support manager.
- Collect and streamline data and trends within academic support throughout the academic year.

  • Knowledge and capabilities normally acquired through a degree in education, counseling, and/or a related field.
  • Proven ability to apply student development theory to design academic support programs, address diverse student needs, and enhance student success through inclusive coaching and mentoring practices.
  • Experience with, and a commitment to, the residential liberal arts experience.
  • Must work collaboratively and cooperatively with diverse individuals and groups including administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
  • Interest in working in a dynamic environment and a willingness to be flexible and experiment.

Required: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred: Master's Degree
Experience in student support, student affairs, or related field
Experience working with college populationSupervision Required/Given:
