Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our client's team in Shelton, CT. Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform data entry and maintain organized financial records.
- Reconcile bank statements and assist with account reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with payroll processing and other financial tasks as needed.
- Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus.
