The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine offers an internal medicine training program designed to encourage science and humanity in the practice of medicine. Job Summary
The Accreditation Specialist will manage the accreditation related activities for several programs within the Department of Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that regulatory and accreditation standards of varying accrediting agencies are met (ACGME, ABIM, subspecialty boards).
  • Generate individual program level scorecard to track quality improvement changes over time.
  • Support the accreditation process, including the coordination of and active participation in internal reviews and site visits.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of files associated with program accreditation.
  • Provide guidance to program directors, coordinators, and faculty in the coordination and processing of programs for accreditation, including new programs.
  • Create evaluative reports needed to identify areas of improvement.
  • ACGME reporting, including folder documentation (license, residency verification, ABIM certification), evaluations (360, monthly, direct observation tools, procedure logs), semi-annual reviews, annual program review, and duty hour monitoring.
  • Implementation of milestones into curriculum and evaluation system.
  • Manage program evaluations in MedHub.
  • Submit the annual ACGME ADS update.
  • Manage the annual faculty and resident surveys.
  • Track and record scholarly activities for faculty and residents. -Monitor and track the board pass rate for all graduating trainees.
  • Assist with the annual stipend budget and contract process for assigned programs.
  • Coordinates and interprets requirements of the training program, including accreditation, duty schedules, evaluation process, resident/fellowship recruitment, Match process, orientation and employees relations.

  • Has a moderate/high level of authority in reporting and ensuring compliance with procedures regarding licensing, moonlighting, annual contracts, and initial and re-credentialing of trainees.


  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
