Job Description:
The Technical Coordinator Technician is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of live streaming, media management, and content distribution. This role includes scheduling, monitoring, troubleshooting live streams, managing metadata, and ensuring accurate database entry. The technician will coordinate with various agencies, manage cloud-based platforms, provide technical support to viewers, handle DVD duplication, and ensure the proper registration and accessibility of Nebraska Public Media assets. Strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
- Schedule, test, monitor, and provide technical troubleshooting for live streaming, including managing media workflows to record and capture assets/metadata.
- Coordinate with state/public agencies and individuals requesting streaming services, managing schedules, updates, and communication about staffing and technology needs.
- Manage cloud-based platforms that utilize artificial intelligence to record live streams and create/distribute digital content highlights.
- Enter information into multiple local and relational databases, ensuring logs for various services are accurate, verified, and reconciled.
- Perform entry, cleanup, and correction of metadata for on-demand content, ensuring proper management and accessibility of assets on storage systems.
- Upload media content to various on-demand and streaming platforms.
- Produce logs for non-broadcast events, including weekly and monthly reconciliation of billing documentation.
- Prepare logs for satellite uplinks and downlinks.
- Respond to technical helpdesk calls, assisting viewers with troubleshooting reception, on-demand, streaming issues, and app installations.
- Post broadcast outages on multiple platforms when required.
- Produce dub requests for archived content not yet digitized, ensuring media is tracked in databases and stored for future use.
- Test, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot remote cameras for the State of Nebraska Supreme Court and Court of Appeals as needed.
- Provide Zoom integration support during live streaming events.
- Process DVD duplication requests, including acquiring ISOs, quality control checks, and coordinating transfers to duplication vendors. Assemble products and ensure artwork and sleeves are produced.
- Maintain DVD duplication equipment and handle in-house duplication services.
- Register Nebraska Public Media assets in EIDR, IMDb, and other platforms to enhance content discoverability.
- Coordinate caption encoder inputs for logs and work with captioning personnel to ensure accurate scheduling.
Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
Compensation: Starting at $17.498, Pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved.
