Job DescriptionBGIS ITS has a unique service relationship with commercial customers that have a national presence. Our commercial technicians conduct regularly scheduled maintenance, demand service requests, repair services and equipment changeouts at locations in and around their states. Work is coordinated with our support team that includes, dispatchers/coordinators, supervisors and additional technical resources, all designed to ensure our techs have the resources they need to complete their job safely and efficiently. Our technician team is provided with a fully stocked service van, iPad, iPhone and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Primary Responsibilities - Generates high quality work in alliance with the vision and mission of BGIS.
- Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, components, systems, and fixtures using hand tools or power tools.
- Assist in tracing out short circuits in wiring, using test meter.
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings, using hand and power tools.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order.
- Install copper-clad ground rods, using a manual post driver.
- Install wire or cable through conduits.
- Repair, install and/or retrofit lighting fixtures.
- Test electrical equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Strip insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers, and attach wires to terminals.
- Dig trenches or holes for installation of conduit or supports.
- Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as an ohmmeter and/or voltmeter.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
- Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects.

Qualifications - Experience in commercial electrical construction and a good working knowledge of the NEC is preferred.
- Microsoft office (Excel, word, project & Outlook) is also preferred.
