ECS is seeking an ARPA-H Clinical Trials Biostatistician to work in our Remote office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon [contract award].

Job Description:

Are you a passionate biostatistician ready to support R&D initiatives? Are you ready to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) in their mission to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone by preparing briefings and reports that can communicate scientific and technical knowledge that inform stakeholders of the high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems?

ECS seeks talented and driven biostatistics expert. In this crucial role, you will serve as a scientific and technical advisor-providing support and thought leadership to the program manager and performer teams responsible for generating R&D solutions for ARPA-H and its focus areas. This role will be supporting the Proactive Health Office (PHO).

What you will do:

  • Serve as lead for biomedical and clinical trial design, management, and results analysis.
  • Utilize your biostatistical expertise to establish protocol preparation and sample size/randomization.
  • Assist R&D teams and the Government provide advice and oversight to the implementation and management of clinical trials.
  • Support the design, development, and management of public health analysis.
  • Serve as thought-leader in support to strategic planning activities as related to public health analysis.
  • Utilize statistical and machine learning approaches to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within the data.
  • Integrate and analyze data from diverse sources, including public databases and internal datasets.
Stay current with scientific advancements:
  • Actively track and analyze new research findings in this field.
  • Identify and propose emerging methodologies and technologies that could enhance the program's progress.
  • Participate in scientific discussions and presentations, contributing your expertise to the program's overall knowledge base.
Collaborate effectively within a diverse team:
  • Build strong relationships with computational scientists, engineers, and other scientific advisors involved in the program.
  • Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and problem-solving exercises to drive the program forward.

Salary Range: $100,000-$180,000

  • Required Skills:
  • At least 7 years of experience in biostatistics and/or applied statistics utilizing clinical and public health trial datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, analyze data, and write scientific reports.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and a passion for healthcare and scientific discovery.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract.
  • PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related scientific field.

Desired Skills:
  • Three years or more experience, background, and knowledge of one or more ARPA Programs is highly desirable.
  • Two years or more experience working with ARPA Program Managers is also highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting complex R&D projects of a research and development nature.
