ECS is seeking a ARPA-H Senior Technical Advisor to work in our Remote office.

Job Description:

ECS is seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Senior Technical Advisor to join our team. In this critical role, you will provide expert scientific and technical guidance on a wide range of biomedical research programs. You will play a pivotal role in shaping ARPA-H's research agenda by identifying and evaluating emerging technologies, particularly those with the potential to revolutionize biotechnologies.

What You'll Do:

  • Leverage your deep understanding of biology (or a closely related field) to advise on the scientific merit and technical feasibility of proposed research projects.
  • Analyze complex scientific data and translate it into actionable insights for program managers.
  • Identify and evaluate breakthrough technologies with the potential to transform healthcare.
  • Possess a strong track record of working effectively with government clients, particularly within the research funding landscape.
  • Prior experience enabling biotechnologies (e.g., gene editing, biomaterials) is highly desirable.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and program managers to foster innovation and accelerate scientific progress.
  • Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay current on cutting-edge advancements in biology and related fields.
Salary Range: $100,000-185,000

Required Skills:
  • Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field (e.g., bioengineering, genetics, immunology).
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience conducting and/or overseeing scientific research.
  • Proven ability to identify and evaluate emerging technologies with high commercial potential.
  • Experience working effectively with government clients and navigating the federal research funding landscape.
  • Strong understanding of the "ARPA Model" used by ARPA-H and DARPA to manage transformative federal research programs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and a passion for scientific discovery.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract.
