Title: Assistant Professor of Psychology, 9 Month (Term)

Job Summary

This is a full-time, academic-year (9 month), one-year term (renewable) appointment within the department of Social Sciences. The instructor is responsible for the planning, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The instructor is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day and evening on any Jackson State Community College Campus.

Job Duties

• 60% - Preparing and delivering instruction in psychology courses including General Psychology, Life Span Psychology, and other courses as assigned; and evaluating and grading student work promptly. - (Essential)
• 20% - Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other records. - (Essential)
• 10% - Participation in departmental and college committees and other service to the college and community. - (Essential)
• 10% - Other duties as assigned. - (Marginal)

Minimum Qualifications

* Master's degree in psychology from a regionally accredited institution, or
* Master's degree in another discipline from a regionally accredited institution and at least 18 graduate semester hours in psychology

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience teaching at the college level, particularly community college.
* Demonstrated experience teaching General Psychology and Life Span Psychology.
* Experience teaching courses in a variety of modalities including in-person, hybrid, virtual, and asynchronously online.
* Ph.D. in psychology.

Pay Rate: $44,982 - $53,978 Annual salary depending on eligible experience which is defined by the current compensation plan.
