Position Summary:The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) welcomes applications for multiple Assistant Professor of Teaching positions in Computer Science and Engineering. This position is expected to teach all core computer science and engineering courses and should be able to teach courses in one or more areas, including cloud/edge computing, software engineering, and cybersecurity.

The department consists of 50 faculty and five staff members, has a student body of over 1,500 undergraduate and 1,400 graduate students, and offers baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. The department also offers master's degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Analytics, and Information Technology and Management. The department's current active funding portfolio is over $15.2M, with support from federal funding agencies such as NSF, NIH, DoD, DoE, and DARPA, as well as industry. The FAU COECS is currently listed as 103rd best college for undergraduate students and top 91 public colleges for graduate students by US News & World Report for 2024. The college is also listed as one of the top three fastest rising engineering colleges in the US, has 11 faculty who received CAREER awards since 2018, and has the highest employment rate for graduates among the Florida State University System for engineering. Moreover, in the past five years within the College, research funding is up 164%, faculty expenditures by 288%, graduate student enrollment in computer science by 171%, student internships by 545%, undergraduate research engagement by 450%, and enrollment in the women in engineering and computer science group is up 128%.
