About the Division of Audiology:

The Division of Audiology at Cincinnati Children's is one of the nation's largest pediatric audiology programs. Our audiologists are specially trained to evaluate, treat, and manage hearing loss and balance care for patients from birth to 21 years of age. Our team of experts use an evidence-based diagnostic approach and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, speech pathologists, developmental pediatricians, and otolaryngologists (Ear, Nose and Throat physicians - ENTs), to ensure children receive the individualized care he or she needs. We are dedicated to educating and empowering patients and families to ensure they have the information and technology required to optimize communication skills and educational outcomes.

Schedule:

This position will be at our Main Hospital. It will be four 10-hour days Monday-Friday. First shift.

Qualifications:

To be considered, candidates must have an AuD degree, be a Licensed Audiologist in the State of Ohio by the first day of employment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Diagnostic Evaluations - Perform all routine and some specialty diagnostic evaluations. Choose and administer appropriate tests according to standard procedures. Assess communication skills, make accurate diagnoses, appropriate recommendations and referrals. Provide evaluation results and counseling to parents in an effective manner. Determine discharge criteria and prepare patient for discharge or transition as appropriate.
  • Case Management - Formulate, maintain, support, monitor and modify a patient-specific plan for care, treatment and rehabilitation based on the patient's assessment. Plan and coordinate care, treatment and rehabilitation for discharged patients. Is scheduled or available for 100% direct patient contact time. Makes productive use of time created by no-show or cancelled appointments. Conducts all patient care activities consistent with evidence, including Clinical Practice Guidelines and Divisional policies and procedures.
  • Interprofessional Practice - Demonstrates consistent integration of the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) in all aspects of practice.
  • Follow-up and Documentation - Completes required daily/weekly activities and documentation to ensure accurate scheduling, exchange of clinical information, reporting, referrals and charges.
  • Evidence Based Practice/Research - Participates in the development of evidence based protocols and guidelines. Utilizes best practice guidelines in own practice and models this approach for other staff.

To provide diagnostic evaluations and (re)habilitative services for patients with a variety of hearing and balance disorders for the Audiology department of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents. To participate as a team member in a specialty area; to serve as a preceptor for graduate audiology students, to provide lectures and in-service training to professionals within Cincinnati Children's and the community.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • AuD preferred
  • 1-3 years professional experience preferred
  • Licensed Audiologist
