Responsibilities: The Financial Clearance Representative interviews patients to collect and verify pertinent demographic and financial data prior to patient's scheduled day of service; secures required payment or makes necessary financial arrangements; ensures HIPAA standards are adhered to and followed in accordance with facility policy; and ensures compliance with government and NMHC procedures. The Financial Clearance Rep attends and assists in preparation and/or facilitation of mandatory monthly staff meetings, in-services and educational sessions.
Requirements: High school diploma, GED or equivalent; minimum of 2 years healthcare office experience, registration and supervision experience; experience with Windows application systems and some Microsoft Office (Excel preferred); professional demeanor and excellent public relations skills; excellent communication skills with ability to effectively calm patients and be able to deal with distressed and/or agitated patients; and advanced medical terminology and health insurance.
Salary is commensurate with up to ten years experience.
