The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of North Dakota (UND) seeks a clinical assistant professor in Audiology. This is a renewable 3-year, 9-month non-tenure track position with a beginning date of August 16, 2024, contingent upon availability of funding. This position includes teaching, service delivery and advising students in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and clinical work at the Northern Prairie Community Clinic (NPCC).

The Department offers undergraduate and graduate master's degree programs in communication sciences and disorders. The department currently has eight full-time and four part-time faculty members, and a state-of-the-art clinic facility. The department typically has about 90 undergraduate and 40 graduate students enrolled.

Established in 1883, the University of North Dakota is the oldest research university in North Dakota. • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses
  • Anatomy and Physiology of the Speech and Hearing Mechanism, Intro to Audiology, Speech and Hearing Sciences, Aural Rehabilitation and Audiology for SLPs
• Advise graduate students
• Provide audiological services at the NPCC

The NPCC is a teaching clinic located at UND. It is anticipated that 65% of the position will be teaching and advisement, 25% will be dedicated to clinical practice, and 10% service.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate (in both oral and written modes) in English at a level sufficient to meet curricular and clinical needs
• Learn, assimilate and apply written and verbal information needed to meet curricular and clinical demands
• Willingness to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders

• Ph.D or Au.D in Audiology by August 15, 2024
• Eligibility for ND licensure
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

• Experience as a graduate teaching assistant, instructor of record in undergraduate or graduate courses, or professional development facilitator
• Experience working within a clinical environment with patients, including internship experience
