Position Summary
The Clinical Development Coordinator, MSPAS Program will develop and manage clinical sites for the education of the Physician Assistant students. In addition, they will support the coordination and management of various duties of the clinical program team including administration, student support, and site-related tasks required for clinical rotations and clinical site visits and outreach for the department. They will work 15 hours per week.


Responsibilities

  • Work with the clinical team to maintain effective site relationships. Represent the MSPAS program interests to clinical site administrators and outside agencies as applicable.
  • Develop, coordinate and manage clinical site outreach. Identify and develop new clinical relationships including the exploration of potential new site affiliations and clinical rotation placements. Work with the clinical team to coordinate educational and training opportunities for students.
  • Serve as the MSPAS program liaison to clinical sites and perform in-person and virtual site visits as necessary to maintain, grow, and support existing sites. Maintain an accurate database of completed site visits and support the scheduling and coordination of site visits for faculty/staff as applicable.
  • Identify clinical site issues, troubleshoot concerns, and develop strategies for resolution with the support of DCE and clinical team.
  • Maintenance of clear and accurate clinical site documentation including preceptor credentialing and licensure, preceptor and administrative contact information, and legal affiliation agreements, including the use of healthcare education management software as applicable.
  • Work with the Clinical Administrative Manager (CAM) to identify and maintain clear documentation of onboarding and other clinical site expectations as required for student rotation participation, including the use of healthcare education management software.
  • Initiate and aid in full execution of legal affiliation agreements including processing within and outside of the university. Maintain accurate database to monitor such items for compliance and expiration.
  • Prepare clinical preceptor and site appreciation efforts, including the preparation of preceptor hours data, gifts, and events as specified by the DCE and clinical team.
  • Work with the clinical team to determine preceptor and site availability for student scheduling.
  • Participate in clinical team activities such as student orientation, clinical seminars, clinical preparation instruction, and clinical year program events to support student education and clinical administrative needs.
  • Support MSPAS program admin team as needed at various activities including student events, admissions, and orientation.
  • Participation in program self-assessment and ARC-PA accreditation maintenance and ongoing evaluation process.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and Program Director.

  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of one year of administrative support experience. Experience within a university or healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer software packages, databases, spreadsheet programs, and online systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills in problem solving and decision making
  • Demonstrates timely and diplomatic interactions with all students, faculty, staff, the public and the medical community
  • Handles confidential information with discretion
  • Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness and problem solving skills.
  • Uses effective communication skills taking into consideration body language, filters, listening, paraphrasing, and questions with customers of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively as a team with other Program and University faculty and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and handle multiple simultaneous activities
  • Must have a valid, non-limited California state driver’s license.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in health care/health education, preferably within administration and/or human resources
  • Previous work experience in sales/marketing and/or public relations
