PLACEMENT: Professional Staff, Grade S08
MINIMUM PAY RATE: $54,761.00 annually

POSITION SUMMARY
This position develops strong working relationships with local clean energy industry employers, contractor associations, unions, and contractors to facilitate job placement of Climate & Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) program participants upon completion. Implement individualized employment plans to support participation in work-based learning opportunities, exploration of clean energy career pathways, job search skills, resume development, and interview practice. Partner with employers, contractors, and Energy Transition Navigators to ensure timely and successful transition of program completers into employment to meet grant completion and outcome performance measures.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Establish and coordinate work-based learning opportunities for CEJA participants to explore clean energy career pathways, develop employability skills, and enhance job-specific skills. Work-based learning may include guest speakers, job shadowing, mentorship, internships, service learning, on-the-job training, and apprenticeships.
2. Collaborate with Energy Transition Navigators to actively develop work experience, employment sites, and opportunities among clean energy industry employers, contractor associations, unions, and contractors for CEJA participants and job seekers.
3. Establish new and strengthen current employer relationships and visibility among clean energy industry employers through outreach activities such as networking events, mailings, cold calls, and personal visits.
4. Verify core job competencies, certifications, and employability skills for clean energy industry occupations in Joliet and the surrounding communities and communicate these findings to CEJA staff, instructors and students.
5. Prepare CEJA participants with all aspects of implementing a successful job search including resume writing, interviewing, networking, job-search techniques, and strategies.
6. Support Student Services Coordinator and Workforce Development Coordinator in designing and implementing individualized barrier reduction plans for participants.
7. Facilitate and manage employer visits for CEJA participants and provide leadership and coordination for targeted career/job fairs and outreach events.
8. Lead and supervise participants engaged in paid work-based learning experiences: develop work-based learning policies and procedures; develop individual training plans for new hires; monitor adherence to plan; and take corrective actions to ensure job retention among CEJA participants.
9. Support participants for at least one year following program completion to ensure long-term career advancement and success.
10. Maintain and oversee work-based learning participant and employer files.
11. Assist employers with the promotion of clean energy jobs using JJC's electronic job posting platform(s).
12. Refer employers and job seekers to additional workforce initiatives including Workforce Investment & Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs, apprenticeships, other grant opportunities, etc.
13. Uphold core values of diversity, inclusion, accessibility and equity to increase access, enrollment and completion for program eligible persons.
14. Maintain high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
15. Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in education, business, human resources, social work or related field.
2. Three (3) years of applicable work experience in job development, internship program administration, student employment administration, career counseling or related area.
3. Strong interpersonal, communication, time, project management and organizational skills.
4. Strong personal computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
5. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
6. Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.
7. Local travel required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
1. Master's degree.
2. Three (3) years of work experience in higher education, grant and/or Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs.
3. Familiar with use of social media platforms (i.e. Facebook and LinkedIn) to support the promotion, marketing, and communication of services and programs.
4. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
5. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Normal office physical demands.
2. Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.

WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Duties are performed indoors in the usual office environment.
