Job Summary

The Customer Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success, developing positive relationships and handling customers' needs, and generating new sales using existing and potential customer networks. The Customer Account Manager will be the liaison between the customer and the Company's sales, service, and order fulfillment to ensure timely entry and delivery of customer orders. They also coordinate with other departments within an organization to ensure that sales, marketing, and deliveries are handled effectively. Other duties include assisting sales in creation of reports, proposals, and the like and acting as program manager for sales driven projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly communicating with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts to achieve long-term success.
  • Build and maintain high level customer satisfaction and strong trusted, and long-lasting business relationships.
  • Act as the point of contact and handle customers' individual needs.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to meet client goals and company commercial targets.
  • Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks.
  • Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for working with other sales team members to provide assistance and support in times when the primary account manager is unavailable.
  • Maintain records of client transactions and regularly communicate with clients, understand their needs, provide tailored solutions and update the Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) system and other sales applications.
  • Act as program manager for sales driven customer projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations, quotes, formal proposals and bid responses to customers. This may include creation or contribution to the requested/needed documentation. Including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations creative writing, and research.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or relevant field or equivalent relevant experience in Sales Account Management.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience with working as a Sales Account Manager.
  • Hands on experience in sales and an ability to deliver excellent customer experience.
  • Battery or custom electronic technology experience preferred.
  • Familiar with CRM software (i.e., Salesforce preferred) and MS Office.
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • An ability to deliver projects and answer inquiries on time.
  • Business acumen with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple accounts while maintaining a sharp attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with customers, staff, colleagues, and cross-functional teams.
  • Display strong motivation and the ability to comfortably work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen.
  • May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/below knee level or reach overhead.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about in industrial environments, and on uneven terrain.
  • Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with occasional work in outdoor weather conditions, and in industrial environments.
  • The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.
