Job Description:
The Developmental Disabilities (DD) team at DHHS is seeking a Program Coordinator. In this role, you will work under limited supervision to coordinate the administration of various state and federally funded programs across the state. Responsibilities include managing grant and contract administration, monitoring budgets, and developing program policies, procedures, and evaluation criteria to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

JOB DUTIES:

As a Program Coordinator for Developmental Disabilities, you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following job duties:

  • Coordinate the administration of state and federally funded programs under limited supervision.
  • Manage grant and contract oversight, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Monitor program budgets and provide ongoing budgetary oversight.
  • Negotiate, develop, and oversee contracts and contractors involved in program delivery.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to community organizations for program implementation.
  • Serve as a liaison with federal and state authorities to facilitate program compliance and improvement.
  • Draft and review legal contracts related to program operations.
  • Organize and coordinate statewide conferences to enhance program visibility and stakeholder engagement.
  • Prepare and review legislative summaries relevant to program initiatives.
  • Write comprehensive reports and grant applications to secure funding and support program expansion.
  • Develop corrective action plans to address compliance issues or program deficiencies.
  • Participate in public hearings and advisory boards, representing program interests and advocating for stakeholder needs.

Requirements/ Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field OR experience in the development of operational policies and procedures, performing quality assurance analysis/evaluation of programs; grant writing, contract management, or leading community based health/social care groups. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with Assisted living facilities, experience in the behavioral/mental health or DD field.

Knowledge of: basic accounting and business administration; social work and management theory; the structure of organizations; state, local and federal laws and programs relating to social service programs; available funding sources; human dynamics; learning/teaching techniques.

Ability to: relate well with a diverse number of individuals or organizations; analyze community's present needs and recommend programs to achieve desired results; work with people in a variety of roles (leadership, cooperation, education, networking).

Skill in: persuading others to adopt programs; presenting information to groups or individuals in oral or written form; problem solving; prioritizing; goal setting; conflict resolution.
