Welcome to an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Marketing at Boise State University as the Dykman Distinguished Professor of Professional Sales. We are seeking a faculty member at the Associate or Full Professor level who has the vision and experience to provide intellectual and pedagogical leadership of a new professional sales program. The academic program will include a major, minor, and certificate offerings. This person will work with the Director of Professional Sales and other Marketing Department faculty to contribute to the development of a vibrant set of curricular and co-curricular sales learning opportunities and industry engagements. Together, they will design and deliver one of the top professional sales programs in the Western United States. The start date for this position is August 2025.

As our new colleague, you will contribute to the department's mission by teaching undergraduate courses in marketing with a primary focus on professional sales and related coursework, publishing scholarly research in quality peer-reviewed journals, and providing service primarily supporting professional sales activities, but may also participate on department, college, and/or university committees. For the first three academic years, your teaching load will be two courses per semester (2-2). You will receive guaranteed summer research compensation for the first three academic years. Through continued productive scholarship, you will have the opportunity to retain this teaching load and to routinely earn additional summer research funding. The Dykman Distinguished Professor appointment and stipend is awarded for five years at a time and serves as a "top off" on a tenure track/tenured position. It will be renewed based on continued excellence in teaching, research, and service contributions to the Professional Sales Program.
Department Overview:
Boise State's Marketing Department currently offers Marketing Major (BBA) and Minor programs of study. Students majoring in marketing may choose emphasis areas in Brand and Product Marketing or Marketing Communications. Marketing courses, on average, enroll 34 students per course. Approximately 105 students per year graduate with a Marketing Major.
