Position: Electrical Assembler
Pay: $20-$25/hr DOE
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Overview:
Our Client, One of the Portland areas top employers, is looking for an Electrical Assembler to join their team. In this role, you will work with various tools and equipment to assemble electrical components following specific schematics. This position requires interpreting schematics to gather the necessary parts and tools, fabricating or assembling the components, and positioning them for integration into larger systems. Tasks are performed under direct supervision, and you'll be expected to follow both written and verbal instructions.
Position Details:
As an Electrical Assembler, you will:
- Collaborate with team members to fabricate and assemble electrical components.
- Use computer programs to access and print schematics.
- Read and interpret numbers and measurements from schematics.
- Utilize schematics to accurately fabricate and assemble electrical components.
- Prepare various types of cables for electrical connections.
- Perform tasks such as ferrule crimping, creating service loops, and installing rings and forks.
- Install cables and wires in compliance with established safety and quality standards.
- Label all cables and wires according to specified safety and quality protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following 5S workplace organization standards.
- Use equipment and resources efficiently and responsibly.
- Adhere to all company safety and quality guidelines.
- Document observations and actions related to safety and quality as required.
- Be flexible and adaptable, understanding that you may need to perform tasks outside your primary responsibilities to support the overall goals and mission of the team or company.
Qualifications:
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical assembly schematics, or a strong willingness and ability to learn quickly.
- Prior experience in assembling or fabricating electrical components using various types of wire, both shielded and non-shielded.
- Familiarity with maintaining high safety and quality standards in a production environment.
- Ability to handle shifting priorities and work closely with a team of assemblers.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform tasks that require fine motor skills, repetitive motions, and sustained use of arms and hands.
- Proficiency in reading, hearing, and speaking English.
- Competence in understanding and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams in English.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs., typically up to 30 lbs. without frequent repetition.
Working Conditions:
- This role is based in a warehouse setting.
- May involve shift work, including days, evenings, or weekends, depending on scheduling requirements.
