This position is responsible for applying Human Resources (HR) partnering skills in a high volume call center environment, with an emphasis on Employee Relations case management. Will manage and resolve simple to complex Employee Relations issues and investigations. Manages and provides early intervention and support resolution for Employee Relations issues. Acts independently and has an aptitude for networking in a diverse and complicated organizational structure.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Responds to, investigates and provides recommendations to resolve employee relations concerns reported to the Employee Relations Service Center, Grifols Ethics Hotline, Issue Resolution Policy or other means. Documents all activity, advice, resolution and prepares investigative reports. Maintains discretion and confidentiality regarding employee concerns.
  • Coaches and advises managers on Grifols' employee relations best practices, policy, programs or processes and how to respond to workplace issues appropriately.
  • Ensures compliance of state and federal laws as well as company policy.
  • Educates and trains HR staff and front line management on Employee Relations policies and procedures.
  • Works with Legal department to respond to EEOC, DOL and other legal claims.
  • Responds to unemployment claims for all Grifols' companies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and understanding of HR practices and employee relations. Good oral and written communication, organization, presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong PC skills, especially with Microsoft Office Suite of products. Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, including the ability to perform root cause analysis. Ability to work both independently and in a team. Ability to handle deadline-driven responsibilities in a dynamic environment. Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail. Ability to present data in a compelling manner in order to influence others. Ability to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information viewed.

Maintains federal and state compliance on all HR issues. Consults with HR staff and relevant company employees on all types of internal discrimination complaints. Develops reports for submission to various regulatory agencies. Reviews HR training related to EEO considerations, various types of discrimination and/or sexual harassment, to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Gathers evidence and prepares responses to various discrimination and wage claims. Investigates and responds to employee relations concerns. Creates and delivers training on employee relations issues, compliance policies, and related administrative procedures. Provides consultation to managers and employees on the interpretation and/or application of company HR policies and procedures to ensure consistent and fair policy/procedures application.

Experience & Education

Bachelor's degree in HR or related field. PHR Certification preferred.

Typically requires 1 - 5 years of HR experience that includes experience handling related employee relations issues.

Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements.

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 30lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups.
