CCI Facility Support Services, LLC is currently seeking an experienced, technically proficient, Mechanical Engineer with a belief in teamwork.

The Mechanical Engineer will provide manufacturing and production support to the Munitions Engineering and Technology Center (METC) at Picatinny Arsenal. This person will be responsible for lifecycle manufacturing process technology, prototype manufacture, and design for producibility related to the customer's mission.

This position will be located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to manufacturing and production teams during the development, implementation, and scale up of munitions systems production.
  • Perform analysis to enhance manufacturing and developmental activities which may include testing and evaluation, data analysis, computer modeling, design for producibility, design development, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), planning and executing engineering experiments, authoring test plans, and monitoring manufacturing activities.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify optimal materials, components, and manufacturing processes for munitions projects and components.
  • Work under the direction of senior engineers on research and design projects related to prototyping, manufacturing process development, fabrication of protype hardware, and cost estimates.
  • Attend and contribute to regular project meetings.
  • Contribute as a team member, providing input regarding project feasibility, scope, complexities, risks, and schedules.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering, particularly as they relate to munitions technology.
  • Work schedule is 8 hours per day, which must include core in-office hours between 0900 and 1500. The remaining 2 hours of in-office time will be discussed and agreed upon with your supervising engineer.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent field of study.
  • A minimum of 1 year post degree engineering experience with hands-on high-volume manufacturing/production/prototyping/assembly.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Knowledge and application of GD&T.
  • Ability and willingness to pass background checks and gain access to customer facilities.
  • Up to 25% travel within in the U.S. and Canada
  • Ability and willingness to complete all customer and company training within identified timeframes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to self-manage, receive direction, and execute tasks according to plans.
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills and an attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, particularly in the context of munitions engineering challenges.
  • Knowledge and experience in CREO CAD software for designing and modeling mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a proven track record of collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing and assembly environment, analyzing the layout of equipment, manufacturing flow process.
  • Experience related to metal alloys, munitions, and artillery systems.
  • A Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) certificate or Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
  • Candidates within driving distance of Picatinny Arsenal, NJ will be given preference.
