American Battery Solutions has a full-time opening for a Engineering Change Coordinator position in Lake Orion, Michigan.
Job Summary
The Engineering Change Coordinator will be tasked to support & streamline change management execution on behalf of the engineering organization. The role will collect, set up and maintain Bill of Material (BOM) and master part data in multiple systems with intent to prepare for future Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and PLEX ERP deployment. The Engineering Change Coordinator will also be tasked with BOM Cleansing and PLEX master data management.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering changes between Program Management, Engineering, Production, Quality and Logistics departments.
- Manage implementation dates of product modifications according to engineering change procedures.
- Work with engineers to execute changes under proper dispositioning to reduce obsolete stocks to minimum levels.
- Determine and validate correct material master data for all material for all products.
- Update Bill of Materials and part data in ERP systems resulting from engineering changes.
- Design, develop, validate, and implement methods and tools that improve PDM, BOM management, and change management processes
- Work with Engineers to capture and validate master part data for all products.
- Ensure consistency & accuracy between PDM Engineering Bill of Materials and PLEX Bill of Materials
- Read-across proposed changes to identify potential impacts and opportunities to related programs
- Work with customer and internal teams on cost reduction initiatives after the program SOP.
- Develop training and onboarding material related to change management processes and tools
- Mentor engineers in understanding and execution of change management
- Support Engineering Design & Release activities
- Maintain special relationships with internal program management and engineering teams.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in automotive product development.
- Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
- Strong experience in Solid Works PDM Vaults, PLM, and ERP systems.
- Experience with MRP and ERP systems desired, previous PLEX ERP system preferred.
- Effective communicator, capable of concisely presenting detailed status information to stakeholders.
- Familiar with the product design process
- Challenges the status quo and strives for continuous improvement.
- Excellent organizational skills tracking numerous parts, documents, and processes.
- Self-motivated problem solver; pays attention to the details.
