This position will work under the corporate environmental engineer to identify waste reduction opportunities with respect to water and energy.

*What You Do.*



* Identify prioritized list of water conservation opportunities at manufacturing and corporate facilities

* Build prioritized list of energy conservation opportunities at manufacturing and corporate facilities




* Assist with tracking wastewater treatment costs and metrics at each production facility

* Validate effectiveness of waste stream management channels.  Perform waste stream audits and assist in diversion projects.

* Perform environmental inspections, audit environmental supplies and assist in environmental compliance to company and regulatory requirements

* Validate and organize environmental and sustainability data

* Work closely with cross-functional teams and business units to support sustainability data requests

* Support in surveying and analyzing our supplier chain's sustainability efforts

* Other projects as assigned


 

*Your Education and Qualifications.*



* Pursing a bachelor's degree in energy, environmental or earth science, physics, chemistry relevant engineering, technical based studies program, or a relevant life sciences area, having completed sophomore year prior to the start of internship.

* Passion for learning and growing in the Environmental Sustainability field

* Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

* Ability to summarize, analyze and interpret data in spreadsheets including calculating common statistical measures; mean, median, mode, maximum, minimum, etc.

* Ability to work independently with resourcefulness, originality, and initiative

* Ability to follow health and safety practices in all work environments including but not limited to issues related to mechanical, electrical, fire, chemical and other hazards

* A basic understanding of functional and design criteria of utility systems (electricity, natural gas, water, wastewater, etc.)

* Proficiency in MS Office

* Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and vehicle required. There is no mass/public transit system to/from corporate housing location to company locations.
