The UHealth-University of Miami Health System IT Department has an opportunity for a full-time Epic Application Lead - MyChart to work remotely.

The Epic Application Lead - MyChart oversees and leads the Associate Epic Analysts and Epic Analysts on the team maintains the scope, schedule, and quality of application projects. The Epic Application Lead - MyChart initiates the implementation, builds, and modifies complex applications, and collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application's configuration, function, and access. The incumbent supports junior staff members in day-to-day operations and resolving application issues.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop the project plan, monitor tasks and milestones, and report project changes/status to management
  • Provide instruction to junior team members and lead application efforts throughout the entire project life cycle while meeting project deadlines and initiatives
  • Lead the development of new policies and procedures related to application design, enhancements, change control, and maintenance of the application
  • Serve as the primary resource for junior application team members on technical and functional aspects of the application
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the application
  • Provide guidance on all phases of testing and manage the documentation of workflow design
  • Lead the analysis of new releases and validate the impacts to the workflow
  • Provide insight and guidance when junior team members are identifying issues and delegate the work to resolve them
  • Coordinate the evaluation and resolution of service tickets, identification and implementation of requested application changes, retrieval of requested data, and execution of day-to-day operations
  • Collaborate with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies
  • Lead the interaction with stakeholders, business community, and end users to ensure the application meets UHealth's business/clinical needs
  • Maintain regular communication with team members and lead weekly project team meetings
  • Review the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership
  • Become knowledgeable about UHealth's policies, procedures, and business operations

Department Specific Functions:
  • Travel to the job site during go-lives, conferences, rounding, and/or senior leadership meetings.
  • Providing oversight and leadership to Associate Epic Analysts, Epic Analysts, and Senior Epic Analysts on the team
  • Leading junior team members' work efforts in the design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of the application
  • Maintaining the scope, schedule, and quality of application projects
  • Serving as the primary support contact in all matters related to the application

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Epic MyChart, Care Everywhere, and EpicCare Link Certifications required.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare or healthcare-related organization
  • Familiarity with legal requirements and operational policies related to patient and family privacy practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with current outside organization connection strategy preferred.
  • Familiarity with community clinic relationships and how those groups interact (referrals, discharge to SNF, lab ordering, surgery scheduling, etc.) preferred.
  • Familiarity with the non-clinical external groups that need to access information about certain patients and why they need the information preferred.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Excel.
  • Ability and willingness to recognize assignments or tasks that need to be completed, to seek out additional assignments or tasks, and to help others.
  • Seeking, logically examining, and interpreting information from different sources to determine a problem's cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence.
  • Ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Ability and willingness to see things in an open-minded way and examine an idea or concept from as many angles as possible.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees including senior leadership.
