Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
This is a developmental role, and the duties of the role include but are not limited to:
• Provide the leadership team with timely, high-quality, and accurate financial information and insight on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Provide high-level financial analysis related to division and company-related performance
• Assists in month-end closing duties including but not limited to journal entries, account reconciliation, variance analysis, and report generation
• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes by monitoring production schedules and cost forecasts
• Own reporting of division KPIs including communication of metrics to division leadership
• Contribute to continuous improvement, including working closely with IT and other departments to identify and implement reporting and process improvements
• Assist in improving operational efficiencies by working with operations and commercial teams on our overall effectiveness
• Assist with capital project justifications, rent vs. buy analysis, repair vs. purchase analysis and ad hoc projects to increase profitability of the division
• Crosstrain with and back up all duties of the Finance team
• Prepares and maintains documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls, including internal/external audits
• Assists in ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
• Assists with the implementation and testing of new ERP systems
• Other duties as assigned
• Occasional travel
