Fitments/Injection Molding Operator Effective June 2, 2022, Scholle IPN is now part of SIG.

We are currently hiring multiple Fitments/Injection Molding Operators who will ensure injection molding machines parts and assembly equipment to support production and quality efforts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a high level of cleanliness in accordance with 5S and SQF guidelines
  • Completes mold changes on injection molding presses with the use of an overhead crane or boom truck
  • Troubleshooting Injection Molding presses & molds (Understanding failures & how to correct)
  • Mold Quality (Interpreting failures & how to correct.)
  • Processing of molds
  • Pulling tips
  • Freezing cavities
  • Temperature control
  • Cold startup & shut down
  • Executes changeovers on combiner machines
  • Performs preventive maintenance on molds to ensure molding presses run efficiently
  • Issues material to production orders in the Baan system
  • Inspects resin to verify it is free from all forms of contamination
  • Logs resin/colorant to track usage
  • Return materials placed on hold to ensure accurate inventory levels
  • Performs Digital/Caliper hand measurements at machine start up and in process
  • Performs all essential level 1 and level 2 duties as needed including relieving for breaks and lunches
  • Verifies operator paperwork for accuracy and completion
  • Performs SOC verification and makes suggestions on process improvements
  • Operates the coordinate measuring machine (CMM) at machine start up
  • Performs all essential level 1 and level 2 duties as needed
  • Train employees in all essential level 1 and level 2 duties
Job Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D required
  • Must be level II and III forklift certified
  • Ability to work all shifts and perform overtime
  • Future training and/or education may be necessary to further job skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and PowerPoint presentations. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units or measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate mean, median, and mode, and apply SPC to the quality processes
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Basic skill knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Virtual Client to perform effectively in daily activities
  • Ability to perform visual inspection process and successfully read and apply technical material including print specifications
