The Environmental Engineering and Consulting team delivers solutions for complex environmental challenges using our regulatory expertise and implementing practical and cost-effective compliance management processes and programs. We address our clients' biggest concerns around permitting, ecoservices, assessment, and remediation.

Our highly trained and experienced engineers and scientists, environmental and remediation specialists, geologists, hydrogeologists, biologists, and environmental compliance specialists work with both public- and private-sector clients, delivering turnkey solutions.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Our FP&A Manager, Advisory Services position is a Remote role.

The primary responsibilities of the FP&A Manager are to partner with the operational leaders of the business to provide financial guidance, business visibility through operational reporting, forecasting and decision support. This position will work closely with the operational leads to drive profit margin improvement, as well as the Corporate Controller and VP of Finance to collaborate on financial reporting and various business initiatives. The FP&A Manager will also lead the financial due diligence of Advisory USA acquisitions and earnout period.

As a key member of the Finance team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

  • Overall responsibility for financial support of the Advisory business unit, of approximately $30 million annual revenues, including financial budgeting, forecasting, ongoing analysis and profitability oversight
  • Provide finance support and insight to business unit leadership (Directors / VP's / SVP's)
  • Work with senior leadership, helping to drive the execution of Advisory strategy
  • Play a key role in financial diligence of acquisitions
  • Lead the annual budget process and coordination for the business units
  • Limited annual CAPEX planning & management
  • Participate in developing MES standardized forecasts, models and dashboards to support analytics and decision making
  • Analyze and interpret business trends to identify opportunities to optimize financial performance
  • Identify and influence pricing strategies and job profitability improvements
  • Review actuals against projections with regional operations team to provide details for flux analysis
  • Support for month-end financial close including ensuring complete and accurate month end accruals and financial statement review and analysis
  • Manage the business unit finance team
  • Liaise with peers in the broader MES & MEG Finance, Corporate Accounting and Corporate Finance teams
  • Work closely with other departments, such as FP&A, Accounting, Business Services, Tax, HR & Legal to ensure both financial and legal compliance
  • Identify opportunities for cost reductions in the business
  • Ensure client billing is done in a timely manner
  • Support transformation from a regional reporting structure to a Center of Excellence
  • Standardization and continuous improvement of processes as business requirements evolve
  • Participate in cross-functional Finance and Operations teams programs to develop reporting/process changes required to improve business visibility and efficiency
  • Coordinate and participate in special projects that may arise for Finance or Operations
  • Contribute to the strong health and safety culture through visible leadership to employees and clients
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 10+ years of Finance experience, preferably in FP&A, Finance Operations and/or Controllership
  • Bachelor degree in Finance/Business Administration related field
  • Deep knowledge of operational processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, project accounting) in a service delivery company or a project centric organization.
  • Understanding of time and materials, percentage of completion, and milestone revenue recognition contracts and billings preferred
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, specifically ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook)
  • Experience with Workday a plus
  • Thrives and works well with others in fast-paced, highly demanding environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail, hands-on and results focused
  • Ability to deliver thoughtful, accurate and timely work product
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to travel (approx 10%)
