Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is a unique partnership that allows our customers to leverage the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits.

Key responsibilities:

As an Associate Research Scientist, you will be responsible for method development and execution of analytical techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, Dissolution, GC, and Karl Fischer to facilitate the support of drug product development.

  • Support drug product development including characterization of the process and finished drug products.
  • This position requires hands on experience and knowledge in small molecule pharmaceutical analysis, formulation and/or biopharmaceutics.
  • The successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with other project team members and present results to development teams.
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 6+years')
  • OR Masters degree and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 4+ years')
  • OR PhD and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 2+ years')
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive laboratory experience with and in-depth knowledge of conventional laboratory techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, dissolution, GC, and Karl Fischer, and wet chemistry is a must.
  • Experience with Empower desirable.
  • Experience in analytical development in support of drug product formulation development.
  • Experience in drafting and executing forced degradation and Design of Experiment studies.
  • Experience in performing dissolution testing using biorelevant media, for active ingredients and drug formulations to facilitate biopharmaceutics risk assessment and support drug product development is a plus.
  • Fluency in formulation development, pharmaceutical processing or pharmaceutical sciences is expected.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Familiar with USP, ICH and other compendial requirements.

Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
