Operator Furnace

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observe all safety rules and wear appropriate PPE, where required. Report all safety incidents, unsafe acts and conditions.

• Loads boats and places boats into furnace

• Unloads boats

• Maintain temperature of furnaces with pyrometer

• Maintains records of furnace temperature and furnace production

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on furnaces

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Equipment Used:

Personal Protective Equipment, Crane, Scale, Screeners, Scoops, Furnaces, Load/Unload Tables, Powder Bins, Pyrometer, Forklift, and Tow Motor

Skills/Knowledge Required:

• Must be able to read and write

• Good interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment

• Basic Mathematical Skills

• Record Keeping Skills

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to use both hands at the same time while pushing, pulling, twisting bending, lifting, stooping, and walking

• Must be able to work for long periods, while standing

• Must have good eye/hand coordination with all physical movements well coordinated

Job Conditions & Hazards:

• Moderate Dust

• Must be able to lift up to 33 pounds

• Potential strains, pinch points, and lacerations

• Hot Surfaces

Education Guidelines:

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience Guidelines:

• Minimum of one year experience working in a manufacturing environment
