The Regional QHSE & Sustainability Manager / Director will be responsible for leading and managing the regional development, direction, and ongoing compliance of the JAS Quality Management System and Sustainability Strategy.
The role is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding a customer-centric Quality and Compliance culture, while maintaining thought leadership and collaboration within the industry. This position involves significant customer engagement and is tasked with implementing and continuously applying JAS QHSE & Sustainability standards across the region. This individual will also be accountable for executing QHSE & Sustainability objectives and programs at a regional level.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure continued registration and compliance with Current ISO Quality Standards, and provide relevant information and attendance to satisfy External Auditors and others.
- Promote understanding of what is required by staff to Maintain and develop best Quality standards throughout JAS subsidiary.
- Educate subsidiary staff on various ISO aspects and terminology.
- Plan and conducts regular internal audits of the subsidiaries process in relation to JAS BMS.
- Provides recommendations/corrective actions to close off nonconformance found during internal/external audits or reported by users or others and ensure their implementation and monitoring.
- In connection with the departments, review procedures, create KPI's and training requirements making sure, that they are kept up to date and relevant with ISO norms and standards.
- Maintain, improve and Update the system tools provided to Record, Monitor and Assess issues relating to Quality and provide training in correct use.
- Publish Quality Event schedule.
- Ensure effective Internal Audits take place according to schedule.
- Monitor and help investigate Problem/Complaint reports and Non conformities.
- Publish monthly summaries, and analyses to look for trends and possible solutions.
- Review specific issues with individuals or groups where appropriate.
- Co-operate and liaise with HR Manager to ensure correct implementation of relevant training requirements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This position will not directly or indirectly supervise employees
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have Good distribution practice (GDP) experience.
- Preferred experience working with ISO 9001 / 45001 / 14001
- Must have good understanding of Business Process Improvement techniques such as Six Sigma, DMAIC and/or other concepts.
- Ability to learn quickly
- Strong Organizational skills - Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize, execute on assigned deliverables.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- College degree in Business Administration, International Logistics, or equivalent of education is highly preferred.
- Project Management Business Analysis experience is an plus
- Must have 5+ years of experience in Freight Forwarding
- Excellent understanding of ISO Manual, Rules and Procedures
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
