Help guide the design direction for the department's marketing materials across all relevant mediums, and based on the marketing objectives of our brand and our internal clients. Take projects from concept through final production under tight deadlines. Consult and provide communications expertise to internal customers from all departments across the organization in a service-oriented environment to create communications that meet objectives and achieve results.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Monitor design direction, maintain design standards, and continually improve the marketing pieces we create and utilize.
  • Continue to improve and elevate the department's design work, while ensuring consistency.
  • Create designs from concept through completion for the following projects: digital, print, and social media advertising, as well as marketing collateral, e-mails, mobile app graphics, and web.
  • Execute design with strong time and project management skills, maintain workflow of, and meet deadlines for multiple assignments through regular priority assessment.
  • Create production ready files for both print and digital.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with advertising agency to ensure design continuity, as needed.
  • Utilize creative briefs when needed.
  • Utilize storyboarding where appropriate.
  • Mentor other designers.

Supporting Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Creative Director with design mentoring, as needed.
  • Provide leadership to Marketing Communications staff and company employees related to the Brand Standards Guide.
  • Maintain professional, service-oriented relationships with clients throughout the organization.
  • Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.
  • Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.

SUCCESS PROFILE

Work Experience: Minimum 7 years of marketing design experience in either an agency or in-house setting required. Experience in health insurance a plus.

Education, Certificates, Licenses: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or related field required.

Knowledge: Ability to think broadly and to offer design solutions. Strong organizational skills. Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a team member. Ability to follow operational policies and departmental procedures. Ability to balance multiple projects and competing priorities to meet tight deadlines with a high attention to detail. Ability to work across departments and business entities at all levels. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Expert working knowledge and experience working in Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, HTML, and other digital design applications. Expert understanding of multimedia design and experience building files for both print and digital.

Environment: Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 5% of the time.

Physical Requirements: Stoop and bend. Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while performing core job functions. Repetitive motions to include typing, sorting and filing. Light lifting and carrying of files and business materials. Ability to read and comprehend both written and spoken English. Communicate clearly and effectively.
