Vertiv is hiring a Human Resources Generalist in Anderson, SC to serve as the primary HR liaison for managers and salaried associates for assigned functional/geographical areas. Primarily responsible for explaining HR policies and procedures and facilitating timely resolutions to issues or concerns among salaried associates. Analyzes and provides advice to manager on methods and approaches to resolve associate performance and/or conduct issues. Promotes direct communications and positive rapport in the work environment. Ensures efficient employment process, including recruiting for internal and external open positions. Assists in the coordination, analysis, and delivery of various employee relations programs and projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for associate relations in assigned areas. Meet with associates on an individual or group basis to communicate information, resolve issues and promote understanding of policies, procedures, pay, and benefits.Handles confidential information with sensitivity and compliance to company policies.
  • Promotes a culture within the organization of respect and value of associate's feedback and concerns. Works to reinforce and act as a role model pertaining to company ethics, philosophy, and communicated messages.
  • Manages employee relations issues to effective resolution, ensuring consistent application of the company's vision, values and beliefs. Ensures career planning and personal development plans are completed and that managers and supervisors are equipped to deliver development discussions including proactive follow up. Identifies organizational capability, strengths and gaps with partners to develop and implement plans to close competency issues with defined action items (staffing changes, development plans).
  • Advises supervisors and managers pertaining to company policies and practices and best practices pertaining to coaching and mentoring, management theory, communications, interpersonal and group behavior, etc.
  • Works closely with management in the implementation of company-wide programs and initiatives such as organizational design and workforce planning. Analyzes information, develops alternatives, makes recommendations, and implements solutions to a variety of challenges.
  • Encourages and provides feedback to managers pertaining to the performance review program. Advises managers in developing realistic and stretch goals, crafting feedback and delivery, and identifying developmental opportunities and career pathing.
  • Collects and tracks employee concerns in compliance with approved procedures. Ensures consistent policy and procedure application, including investigations and progressive discipline, problem resolution, and workforce diversity. Provides feedback and drafts changes to company policies for review.
  • Interact daily with associates to ensure an open line of communication is maintained in order to identify and address any issues, needs and/or concerns. Maintains visibility with associates by being regularly available and accessible in all areas ('face time').
  • Develop and/or implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs in assigned areas. Facilitates recruiting and employment functions for assigned areas. This includes the requisition and posting process, obtaining and distributing applicant data for review, interviewing and screening, relocation, EEO tracking and documentation, visa issues, collecting information and compliance documentation for associate file, etc.
  • Follows through with associates, managers, and official company records to assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Provides feedback and trending data to Manager on a regular basis.
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements associate events and activities (e.g., recognition events, communication meetings, charity events, social events, etc.) within budget.
  • May attend and develop relations with colleges and act as a representative of the company at external recruitment fairs.
  • May conduct employee orientation and exit interviews.
  • May include supervision of HR staff.
  • Sources and evaluates data on employee relations and employee satisfaction topics (turnover, facilities, pay, benefits, working conditions,) and informs management of relevant issues and recommended strategies to enhance employee relations.
  • Collects, assembles, provides reports and analyzes results of HR KPIs and EEO data for assigned area. Encourages managers to work towards headcount goals and address any equity concerns.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Focus on Human Resources and Leadership or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible HR experience. Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Professional certifications: PHR or SPHR (or equivalent) preferred.
  • General knowledge of labor law and the principles and HR functions (benefits, compensation, timekeeping, investigations, policy, corrective action, etc..).
  • Financial and business acumen preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred - Spanish, Russian, Ukranian.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills to address complex HR issues with effective solutions.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills.
  • MS office proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Power Point). SmartSheet and Oracle experience preferred.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
  • 85% office environment.
  • 15% manufacturing environment - chilly to uncomfortably warm, noisy, PPE required, machinery, forklifts
TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED
  • 10% - most travel will be to and from nearby off main campus locations. Very occasional travel to other states.
