A Staff Scientist in our Safety and Industrial Hygiene practice group works with clients and colleagues to get projects done on time, on budget, while building meaningful working relationships. You will contribute to the company's success by:

  • Collaborating with and learning from senior members of the firm to learn about the industries and clients we serve.
  • Listening to the client's needs and working with other members of the firm to develop solutions to meet their needs.
  • Rallying with the project team, keeping on track, and helping drive projects to completion. Communication with team members is essential in keeping things moving.
  • Managing projects and working with clients to help them develop or maintain IH and Safety compliance programs.
  • Working with senior staff to build relationships with clients, vendors, and partners through excellent project work.
  • Performing technical and field work and supporting project deliverables on safety and industrial hygiene-related projects, including but not limited to:
  • Safety program development and review
  • Machine guarding assessments
  • Energy control procedure development
  • Process safety management (PSM) and risk management planning program (RMP) development and program auditing, and process hazard analysis (PHA).
  • Developing and conducting safety training to include: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, fall protection, Hazardous waste and emergency response (HAZWOPER),
  • Facility auditing and inspections, regulatory and third-party (ISO, ANSI, etc.) standards
  • Employee exposure assessments
  • Noise dosimetry and sounds pressure level surveys
  • Industrial hygiene exposure assessments for a variety of industries including aerospace, manufacturing, and oil & gas.
  • Indoor air quality assessments (mold, VOCs, CO, CO2, etc.)
  • Ventilation studies
  • Various assessments including PPE, LOTO, confined spaces, heat stress, cold stress, etc.
  • Bonus: experience with project management, stormwater, wastewater, industrial waste compliance support.


What We'd Love to See in You

  • BS degree or higher in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health/Safety, Safety or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO), Safety, Health, & Environmental Professional (SHEP) or Specialist in Safety & Health (SSH) preferred
  • 5-8 years of direct safety compliance and/or industrial hygiene experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidance as they apply to industrial, energy, and commercial clients.
  • Detail-oriented, motivated, analytical thinker, problem solver with a driven work ethic.
  • Excellent technical writing, public speaking, communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
