Summary: Designs, implements and directs a hospital-wide infection control program; surveys, analyzes, reports and records activities; sets standards and evaluates compliance for practices that are associated with the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections; complies with mandates of required accrediting and regulatory agencies and communicates pertinent information to the members of senior management and medical staff members.
Base salary range for this position is $72,032 - $91,381 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. This position also offers an assignment differential of $3.13 hourly in addition to the salary range above.
Qualifications:Required Education and Experience
Certification Requirement
1. Certified by the National Certification of Infection Control or an equivalent national certification; or
2. Eligibility for certification by the National Certification of Infection Control or eligibility for an equivalent national certification.
Education and Experience
1. Masters degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in an infectious disease prevention and control environment; or
2. Bachelor's degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time registered nursing experience requiring hands-on knowledge of infectious disease prevention and control procedures; or
3. Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience with infectious disease prevention and control; or
4. Associates degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time registered nursing experience requiring hands-on knowledge of infectious disease prevention and control; or
5. Associate's degree and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time experience with infectious disease prevention and control.
NOTES:
1. Incumbents must obtain certification by the National Certification of Infection Control or an equivalent national certification within two (2) years as a condition of continued employment.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in nursing or a health related field. The preferred candidate will possess a RN license and have two or more years of clinical bedside nursing experience and/or OR or perioperative nursing experience. The preferred candidate will have an enthusiastic outlook on improving patient safety.The preferred candidate will have experience with Microsoft Suite, EHR, and data management.
