The Innovation Analyst is expected to play a critical role in conducting quantitative customer and market research to create actionable insights that will shape product and service innovations. Leveraging expertise in quantitative analysis and research methodologies, the Innovation Analyst will establish and execute frameworks to collect and analyze data to understand market trends, customer needs, and the potential impact of solutions. These processes, such as market segmentation, customer insights analysis, competitive benchmarking, and commercial insights, are critical to driving innovation. The Innovation Analyst will work closely with key stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making and enhance product strategies. This is a highly visible position that requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to communicate findings effectively across the organization.

This job will be performed Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional work beyond these hours to meet project deadlines or attend stakeholder meetings. The position will require approximately 15% travel throughout the calendar year.

Responsibilities:

* Quantitative Research & Analysis: Develop a structured framework for conducting primary and secondary quantitative research (e.g., surveys, data analytics) to gather insights on customer preferences, market trends, and competitor performance to inform product and service strategies.
* Champion Quantitative Research Frameworks: Lead the development and implementation of robust quantitative research methodologies, ensuring consistency and rigor in data collection, analysis, and reporting across product and service innovations
* Market & Competitive Analysis: Analyze market data and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and growth, helping to shape the company's product roadmap.
* Data-driven Insights Generation: Leverage quantitative research techniques (e.g., regression analysis, cluster analysis, segmentation) to provide actionable insights that drive product development and commercialization strategies.
* Customer Persona Development: Assist in creating detailed customer personas based on quantitative data, guiding product development efforts to ensure alignment with market needs.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to translate data insights into actionable recommendations for product enhancements and new market opportunities.
* Industry Knowledge: Stay informed of industry trends, advancements in market research methodologies, and emerging technologies to ensure best practices in market analysis are applied.
* Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve research processes, share best practices, and contribute to the development of a data-driven innovation culture.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

* Strong expertise in statistical analysis, data interpretation, and quantitative research methodologies
* Familiarity with market research techniques, including surveys, A/B testing, and conjoint analysis
* Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, R, Python, or other statistical software
* Excellent communication skills to present quantitative findings and insights to diverse stakeholders
* Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and adapt to changing business needs
* A passion for innovation, data-driven decision-making, and a strong drive to create impactful products
* Knowledge of product development, service development, and innovation processes
* Experience with data-driven decision-making frameworks and market analysis tools
* Familiarity with industry concepts in construction materials and building technology is a plus
* Experience with product field testing and performance analysis is preferred
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, analytical skills, and conflict resolution skills
* Proficient in data analysis, statistical tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
* Leadership, coaching, influence, team engagement, and facilitation skills
* Process management and process improvement
* Creative problem-solving skills

* Required:

* BS in Business, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, Strategy or related field or a related field with at least 4 years of experience applying quantitative research and statistical analysis in a business setting

* Equivalent: Master's degree in Business, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, Strategy or related field or a related field with at least 2 years of experience applying quantitative research and statistical analysis in a business setting
* Preferred:

* Experience in innovation, market research, and product development preferred
* Market research, data analytics, survey and research methodology certifications
