Job Responsibilities:
Performs tasks to ensure materials are available for repair, adaptation, preventative maintenance and installation for all plant equipment, machinery and the building itself.
Duties:
- Maintains all tools and parts in the crib; in an orderly and secure manner to ensure stock accessibility in a busy production environment sustaining plant 5S standards.
- Completes purchase requisitions for operational and repair/maintenance work using the applicable management system.
- Requests and maintains files of competitive bids on standard stocked items, new tooling, services and the majority of crib items. Updates supplier quotes annually at a minimum.
- Ensures that stock levels of tooling, maintenance, and stocked crib items are monitored, maintained and distributed in a controlled manner as per the work instructions.
- Receives, unpacks incoming materials and stocks in appropriate, labelled locations; requisitions stock to replenish inventory in a timely manner.
- Notifies and/or distributes material to the appropriate employee manually or using a hand truck
Skills/Qualifications:
- Three years' experience in an automotive manufacturing plant
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Previous experience with a multiple management systems (Trans4M and Sprocket)
- Purchasing experience is desired
