Litigation Paralegal
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team in Costa Mesa, CA. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to our attorneys in various aspects of civil litigation (product liability defense), including case management, document preparation, and research. This is a HYBRID position with Tuesdays and Thursdays being onsite and the remaining days being remote/work from home.
Responsibilities:
* Trial Preparation:
o Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, and creating trial notebooks.
o Coordinate with experts and witnesses.
o Assist with trial logistics and support during trial proceedings.
* Pre-Trial Discovery:
o Assist with the discovery process, including drafting interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas.
o Review and analyze documents produced by opposing counsel.
o Organize and prepare documents for production.
* Case Management:
o Organize and maintain case files, both physical and electronic.
o Track deadlines, court dates, and other important timelines.
o Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
* Document Preparation:
o Draft and review legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
o Prepare witness statements, deposition summaries, and trial exhibits.
o Organize and index documents for review and production.
* Legal Research:
o Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources.
o Analyze case law, statutes, and regulations to support legal arguments.
o Summarize research findings for attorneys.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree, Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
* 3-5+ years of relevant litigation experience.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in legal research databases and software.
