Job Objective: Briefly describe the main purpose of this position.
The Maintenance Engineer is a high performing contributor that is responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, machinery, and facilities within a manufacturing, production, or industrial setting. This role focuses on preventing downtime, optimizing equipment performance, and minimizing disruptions to operations.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position: Using brief, bulleted, narrative statements, describe the main tasks and responsibilities that an employee in this position would be expected to manage.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities for production equipment and machinery.
• Perform routine inspections to identify signs of wear, damage, or potential issues.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and breakdowns.
• Effectively repair or coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
• Develop and maintain maintenance schedules and plans for different equipment and systems.
• Ensure maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner to avoid production disruptions.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Implement strategies to enhance equipment reliability and reduce breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
• Generate maintenance reports and documentation as needed.
• Work on projects and assignments as part of a large work team.
• Perform accurate analyses, conduct research, and draw meaningful conclusions about potential job/work-area impacts.
• Effectively apply functional, process, and procedural or technical knowledge to address business challenges.
• Perform other duties as needed.
Required Experience and Education: Describe the education, years of experience, and any certifications necessary to complete the duties and responsibilities of this position.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
• 2-4 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six-Sigma and/or Lean certifications are desirable.
Competencies: Describe the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position in terms of technical, managerial, interpersonal skills and unique abilities.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
