JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician I position will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all machines and equipment assigned. Must be able to perform a variety of duties requiring a high degree of responsibility, skill, knowledge, training, and experience. The position is expected to work with minimal supervision or direction to complete projects and assignments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Core responsibilities include troubleshooting, identifying problems, and repairing machines.
* Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly.
* Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
* Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using hand or power tools.
* Support fabrication of machine components and fixtures or support the repairs and improvements of mechanical devices which support the production departments.
* Performs other duties as assigned, such as fabricating, welding, mill, and lathe. Support the evaluation and troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions of complex electric controls, on both microprocessor and relay designs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:
* High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
Experience:
* 3-5 years experience in Maintenance
* Production Environment Highly Preferred
Skills:
* Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
* Ability to work independently and in a teamwork environment
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to properly assess and prioritize tasks
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Typical Working Conditions:
* Non-climate controlled manufacturing warehouse environment with constant noise and frequent vibrations.
* Working around equipment and machinery.
Equipment Used:
* Industrial machines (woodworking)
* Lathe, mill, panel saws
* Hand and power tools
Essential Physical Tasks:
* Overhead work required
* Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
* Constant standing, walking, handling, grasping, talking, and hearing with eye/hand/foot coordination.
* Ability to lift, pull, and push 25lbs occasionally and 25-49lbs consistently.
