The Role

Oversees and coordinates the activities of the production line, prepares schedules, resolves issues, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality.
  • Maintaining, and updating documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensuring all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards.
  • Supervising and directing the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance.
  • Onboarding new hires, managing scheduling and work conflicts, monitoring safety, and promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Quality Management : Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
Level Basic Understanding:
  • Explains the purpose and limitations of quality management.

  • Defines quality management concepts.
  • Cites examples of organizational quality management initiatives.

Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Level Working Knowledge:
  • Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance.
  • Makes a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions.
  • Uses flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. to disclose meaningful data patterns.
  • Identifies the major forces, events and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand.
  • Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.

Planning and Organizing : Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

  • Seeks help to modify priorities as new information surfaces or conditions change.
  • Demonstrates the ability to estimate the time and resources required to complete tasks.
  • Identifies own key assignments, schedules, and process steps.

Process Improvement : Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.

  • Identifies the main processes for which the group is responsible.
  • Demonstrates the ability to improve on ways of doing things.
  • Applies the concept of continuous improvement to identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Seeks help to implement ideas for process improvement for the group.

Talent Management : Knowledge of human resources and talent management processes; ability to lead, motivate, evaluate, and reward employees at the workplace.
Level Basic Understanding:
  • Discusses major activities performed in managing employees in the workplace.
  • Summarizes key roles and main responsibilities involved in talent management.

Manufacturing Operations : Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.
Level Basic Understanding:
  • Describes manufacturing site's major standards and policies.
  • Explains the basic functions and operations within a manufacturing plant.
  • Lists common tasks and activities performed by operations functions and sub-functions.
  • Locates information regarding fundamental practices and policies.

Manufacturing Safety : Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
Level Working Knowledge:
  • Conducts daily maintenance and keeps tracking logs on safety equipment.
  • Responds to first aid and accident situations following standard procedures.
  • Inspects manufacturing working environment to find safety violations within a specific area.
  • Utilizes personal protective equipment required or recommended for manufacturing staff.
  • Determines appropriate action to take when unsafe conditions are encountered.

Production Training : Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for delivering formal and informal training on the safe and efficient operation of production machinery; ability to conduct effective formal and situation-specific training.
Level Basic Understanding:
  • Describes basic safety rules and regulations related to the manufacturing process.
  • Explains the goals of the organization's production training program.
  • Identifies the types of training courses offered by the organization.
  • Lists the types of production machinery used by the organization and the purpose of each.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a clean driving record, which generally means:
  • No more than (2) moving violations within the last 12 months.
  • No more than three (3) moving violations in the past three (3) years.
Additional Information:
  • Position is located onsite in Waynesburg, PA.
  • Relocation is not offered
