This facility will be equipped with cutting-edge technology and staffed by a team of highly skilled professionals who are dedicated to advancing the field of Plasmid DNA process development and manufacturing. Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager will play a critical role in managing procurement and planning aspects for our new site in The Woodlands, TX (in the Houston metro area). Responsibilities will include processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring supply chain metrics and overseeing inventory levels. The role interfaces with cross-functional teams and clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with supplier base to monitor open purchase orders, ensuring on-time deliveries.
  • Use metrics and qualitative analysis to monitor and improve supply chain processes.
  • Manage appropriate inventory levels.
  • Processing Purchase Requests & Purchase Orders.
  • Manage Consumption-based planning (min/max replenishments) for Plasmid DNA process.
  • Manage Demand-driven planning based on Bills of Materials for Plasmid DNA and recombinant protein projects.
  • Interface with functional teams at The Woodlands, TX and Fremont, CA sites plus clients as needed.

Working Conditions:

This role would be based in The Woodlands, TX. It is an onsite role, open to a hybrid arrangement provided that the incumbent can be on site at least 3 days per week. Occasional travel may be required.

This position is primarily in an office setting. The role requires walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds independently.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of related experience in a Pharmaceutical or Biotech manufacturing environment preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of people and/or project management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Exhibits strong judgement to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload
  • Ability to anticipate and plan for needs of various departments including Process Development, Manufacturing and Quality
  • Attention to detail and applies consistent, effective follow-up skills on multiple projects
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to work with all levels of employees and to effectively manage vendor relations
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft 365 apps, especially Excel and MS Teams
  • Experience using an ERP system to perform transactions and obtain/analyze reports
  • Ability to write and revise Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ability to work in a start-up like environment, help establish new processes, not just experience with existing processes
  • Preferred: Experience with QAD ERP system
  • Preferred: Advanced experience with Excel and pivot tables
