The Math Teacher is responsible for providing basic math instruction and training to students in the Career Education Center. This individual will develop individual achievement plans and academic goals to ensure student academic achievement in the program. Works with the Career Technical Training (CTT) Instructors to infuse applied academics into CTT curricula to enhance student learning and success.
Responsibilities:

Teaching:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver effective lessons that align with the curriculum and educational goals.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Utilize various instructional methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Curriculum Development:
- Collaborate with the education team to develop and update curriculum materials that meet industry standards and educational requirements.
- Integrate real-world examples and practical applications into lesson plans to enhance relevance and student understanding.

Assessment and Evaluation:
- Implement regular assessments to gauge student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their academic performance and offer guidance for improvement.

Student Support:
- Offer additional support to students who may require extra assistance in grasping academic concepts.
- Collaborate with other instructors and support staff to address individual student needs and challenges.

Professional Development:
- Stay informed about current educational trends, teaching methodologies, and industry-specific developments.
- Participate in professional development activities and training to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's degree from an accredited school required, Master's degree preferred
- Valid RI teaching certificate required
- Previous teaching or Job Corps experience strongly preferred
- Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching
