Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Medical Assistant in the Springfield Opioid Treatment Program Mobile Clinic at Behavioral Health Network!

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Opioid Treatment Program with the following:

  • Providing assessments of individuals prior to their medical appointments, as needed.
  • Scheduling individuals' appointments with providers.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and responding to changes in individuals' condition, including laboratory reports, and reports findings.
  • Measuring and recording vital signs, as needed.
  • Performing required drug testing per regulations.
  • Practicing OSHA safety standards.
  • Documenting services in a manner that is compliant with all applicable rules/regulations.
  • Will be working on the Mobile Unit a couple of days, working in an office setting the rest of the shifts.

Who are we?

BHN/OTP is a Medication Assisted Treatment Program to assist individuals who are addicted to opiates and are experiencing their dysfunctional effects to gain and maintain the skills needed to achieve an opiate-free lifestyle. The OTP program uses evidence-based medication protocols approved by the Medical Director to ensure patients safely detox from these substances. These protocols are implemented through assessment and re-assessment practices throughout the process.

What are we looking for in a Medical Assistant?
  • Medical Assistant Certificate or Degree (required).
  • At least one year of experience working with a substance use/mental health population (required).
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English (preferred).
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Internet, word processing and email systems.
  • Willingness and ability to work with challenging and diverse individual populations (required).
  • Cultural competence in dealing with individuals with a variety of different cultural backgrounds (required).
