Seacoast Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Pease

Our practice is in the state-of-the-art Pease Building located at 67 Corporate Drive, Building A, 2nd Floor in Portsmouth, NH 03801. We are one of the largest and most trusted providers of orthopedic care in both the Seacoast region and the state of New Hampshire. Our sub-specialized orthopedic surgeons and compassionate staff are dedicated to treating all orthopedic/sports and joint injuries, in addition to offering women's sports medicine, pediatrics, spine care, and regenerative medicine services.

We have been a leader in sports medicine for more than 30 years, with other practices located in Somersworth, Lee and Portsmouth. We are the official orthopedists and team physician group for the University of New Hampshire in recognition of our advanced training and ability to understand complex sports injuries.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support the practice onsite, Monday through Friday. The operating hours of the practice are 7:30am to 5:00pm, and shifts will be staggered accordingly.

As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team.

We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned practices and locations; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the Pease building, or the WHP system, when appropriate and needed during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances for cross-coverage purposes and to ensure adequate coverage and support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
  • Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point of care testing, assisting with injections, ultrasound guided procedures, and
  • treatments as directed)
  • Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care,
  • fitting patients for DME etc.)
  • Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
  • Performing the functions of a front desk representative during times when the office is not as busy from a clinical perspective and as
  • directed/assigned.
  • Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.


Qualifications
Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Currently working as Medical Assistant with minimum of one year of experience, or Successful completion of Medical Assistant School/Program or have completed comparable training within discipline of EMT or equivalent military training.
  • Six months experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Must obtain a national Medical Assistant certification within 1 year of employment.
  • AHA or ARC BLS within 90 days of hire
