Summary

The Medical Research Specialist is responsible for accurately performing research projects according to established study design and procedures in the Tulane Center for Translational Research in Infection and Inflammation (CTRII). The successful candidate will help perform approved molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry research projects according to defined protocols and procedures, as well as analyzing and interpreting data. Additional responsibilities include performing laboratory ordering and inventorying lab supplies through the Tulane on-line procurement system (SciQuest). The Specialist will also be responsible for occasional equipment, shipping, and general laboratory maintenance.

Required Qualifications

*Bachelor's degree*Two years of directly related experience

Preferred Qualifications

*Master of Science degree in chemistry, biology, or other basic science.*Two years' experience in mouse breeding and colony maintenance*Experience in animal husbandry*Genotyping skills*Ability to work independently or with team members, and willingness to learn and take direction.
