Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Decatur is seeking a leader for the position of Melt Shop Manager. The successful candidate will be a leader capable of ensuring the Nucor Decatur team delivers on our commitment to become the world's safest steel company and lead a capable and motivated team that can achieve the operational performance necessary to meet our commercial objectives. This will require the candidate to establish a clear vision and strategy and empower their team to execute and meet all objectives in safety, quality, costs, productivity, profitability, and environmental. Additionally the successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively throughout the division leadership team to inspire the entire operation. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three years of Melt Shop leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Four-year technical degree or equivalent
• Melt Shop experience with an understanding of scrap logistics, Melt Shop equipment and operations, and all associated processes
