Job Description:
The State of Nebraska, Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an Office Technician position for the Division of Children and Family Services. This position provides direct, on-site support to SESA protection and safety teams for the Division of Children and Family Services.

Hours - Monday - Friday 8-5 NOTE: Must be willing to work flexible hours if needed.

As an Office Technician you will:
- Support CFS Supervisors and CFS Specialists.
- Manage data entry, document distribution, and legal action tracking.
- Schedule meetings and set up rooms.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and provide customer service.
- Handle office supplies, billing documents, and transportation requests.
- Order Social Security cards, birth certificates, and maintain state cars.
- Perform administrative tasks (notarizing, scanning, faxing, etc.).
- Assist with adoption, relinquishment paperwork, and file redactions.
- Oversee front desk duties at Lincoln South and assist with building issues.
- Transport State Wards to other cities in Nebraska.
- Prepare intake packets and support all divisions at Lincoln South.
Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience in public contact, customer service, and/or performing and applying office/clerical support procedures, including the use of a personal computer, associated software, and office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications: Computer skills in Outlook and Excel. Internal and external customer service experience. Communicate orally and in writing with clients, maintain records and files, operate scanning equipment, computers, multi-line telephones, interact appropriately with persons of diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic level.
Other: Applicants must have a valid Nebraska driver's license as well as a good driving record. Must be willing to transport State wards to other cities in Nebraska.
Knowledge/Skills AbilitiesGeneral office practices and procedures; computer office applications, systems, and programs; maintain records and files; scanning/imaging equipment, multi-function copy machines, multi-line telephones and other office equipment; perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paces environment.
Effective communication: English grammar and usage: understand human services practices and procedures; accommodate new methods; maintain confidentiality; sharp attention to detail; proof reading skills; accurate keyboarding skills; and predictable and reliable attendance.
