Description:
- Reporting to the Director Surgery, this role serves as nurse educator for the OR providing training and educational resources to all staff that work in the surgery environment.
- An innovator in minimally invasive surgery, Holy Cross Hospital was first in Montgomery County to offer robotic surgery with the da Vinci® surgical system.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing, and evaluating both patient-specific and population-based programs of care.
- Providing leadership in advancing the practice of nursing to achieve quality and cost-effective patient outcomes as well as provide leadership of multidisciplinary groups in designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions that address system problems and/or patient care issues.
- Providing clinical teaching and supervision, directing patient assignment for new and experienced staff. Directing and providing staff development, including training and orientation.
What you will needRequired:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Master's degree - clinical or non-clinical focus.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
- National certification in clinical specialty required - must be acquired by the end of the probationary 6th month period to remain in the role (role certification preferred)
- AHA BLS and/or ACLS Instructor Status preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years related clinical experience.
- Demonstrated skills at the level of an advanced practice nurse as evidenced by portfolio, recommendation letters, references, interview, and demonstration.

- To utilize evidence to develop, teach, guide, and implement practice standards and policies.
- Demonstrated ability at the level of an advanced practice nurse Available to meet educational needs on all shifts. Computer skills using various applications: Internet, email, word processing, presentation, and database.
