Pay: Starting at $20.09-/hr, overnight and weekend shifts have additional shift differential Bi-weekly pay $500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates Total Rewards: Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, & Vision) starting day 1 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Time off Shifts: Night and Day shifts available 12 hours shifts (6am-6pm OR 6pm-6am) Plant operates on various schedules (schedule assignment determined by candidate preference and plant needs): Weekends: Friday - Sunday Weekdays: Monday - Thursday 2-2-3 schedule: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off rotation. Working 3-4 days/week (One week: Sun, Wed, Thurs Next week: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat). Candidate Process: Please note- communication will be through phone, email, and text. Ensure you have access to a valid email address Qualified applicants will receive a phone call to schedule an onsite interview Post Offer background check and drug screen required Summary: As a Packaging Machine Operator (PMO), you'll be responsible for setting up, overseeing and maintaining the packaging machines to ensure proper quality and packaging of the finished product. This includes housekeeping, assisting other PMO's and Supervisors to run the department efficiently and effectively, and completing sanitation duties. Assist in troubleshooting, training, and basic maintenance tasks. Duties and Responsibilities Follow company GMPs Check gram weight on Ishida operation terminal Clear weigher faults Keep all formers and film off the floor Empty machines when shutting down Operate video jet printers and change printer ribbon when needed Perform timely changeovers Tear down and set up machine Operate fastback systems, weighers, and packing equipment Ensure all required paperwork is completed Ensure all bags are running correct weights Ensure all bags are in registration, both in cutoff and side to side registration Ensure all bags are code-dated properly with both price and date legible and in proper position on face of bag Ensure bags are sealed properly and that bag appearance is acceptable Add/remove air from bags and ensure proper air fill Change knife blades Change bag speed in packaging machines and weighers and ensure running rates based on lead label Keep machines clean and area under and around the machine clean and help sweep packing area Weigh defected film, record defect and place film in defective area provided Keep in feeds, dispersion table, scales, etc, free from buildup Perform hourly metal detector checks as required. Report any metal detector findings, false activations, or other concerns to management immediately and help with investigation Ensure all paperwork is completed (film verifications, sanitation and 5S paperwork, etc.) Complete all required trainings Communicate with all team members, including bakers, leads, packers, PMO's, QC, PC, maintenance, and supervisors All other duties as assigned by Supervisor Follow all safety and general work rules and policies Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED Ability to read, write and comprehend English Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and metric to SAE conversions - mm to inches, grams to ounces Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form Must pass FSQS 1.4.21 PMO Skills and Knowledge Assessment test and FSQS PMO Training qualification checklist Have a clear understanding of how to safely operate packaging machinery and utilize the use of hand tools and equipment Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
