Job Summary
- Provides customer service assistance to the faculty, staff, students, and visitors of the Jacobs School by serving as an informational resource in the centrally located mailroom; distribute and record general office and classroom supplies to Jacobs School of Music departments and offices.
- Sorts and distributes incoming mail and packages (less than 20 lbs.) to multiple buildings (Practice, Merrill Hall, Musical Arts Center and East Studio Building)
- Assists with mass duplicating services and self-service copy machines.
- Assists with receiving and logging of packages via UPS, Federal Express, etc., maintains 4 copy machines with paper; maintains ESB workroom with office supplies; shredding of confidential documents; and general knowledge of mailroom operating procedures.
- Assists with MarketPlace kiosk operations and merchandise sales during all Opera/Ballet Performances (primarily evening weekend work hours). Opera/Ballet schedule varies, but will be provided at the beginning of each academic year.
- Fills orders for web sales.
- Assists with the physical merchandise inventories. (Marketplace is a web based retail initiative selling JSoM merchandise to faculty, staff, students, parents, and the public and includes a merchandise kiosk in the Musical Arts Center lobby for point of contact sales during performances.
- Backup for Mailroom Operations Coordinator as needed.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
SKILLS
Required- Ability to keep confidential information
Working Conditions / DemandsEquipment utilized: PC, software programs, telephone, copier/printer, cash register, fax machine.
This position requested the ability to to move items up to 40 pounds. This position requires the ability to position oneself a lower levels and the ability move throughout a multi-level building. As well as working outside for short periods. This position requires the ability to work long periods on a computer.

Work LocationIU Bloomington campus.
This is an in-person position.
Advertised SalaryPay is $15 per hour.
Work HoursApproximately 20 - 25 hours per week, may on occasion be up to 29 hours per week.
